Paul Ekman

Was born en 1934 on Washington D.C, and he study psychology at the university of Chicago and New York University. Ekman work on facial expressions, and he has proved that most of facial expressions are universal, and they have a biological origin and not culturally determined like the scientist believes before. That means that a smile means happiness here and everywhere, Paul Ekman prove that with a tribe of Papúa Nueva Guinea, he show different pictures of face with a expression and he discover that all the member of the tribe knew was means this expression, even if he doesn’t know that culture.

A lot of people ridicule his brilliant theory but after years of hard work, he prove that his theory it’s totally truth, and was accepted for all the scientist around the world. Based on this theory he proved also that we can know when someone lie, with just see his facial expression, he make an complex study of microexpression and he become the best liar detector, now he’s so famous that even the FBI and the CIA ask his help in difficult cases , when they need to know if somebody it’s telling the truth. Now we can find a dramatization of his life on the TV show called Lie To Me.

I think it's very importan to learn about this life history, because Paul Ekman even whit his brilliant ideas he was ridcule for other scientist, but he fight, and he work and the proved his point, and I think everyone has to do the same and with efforts reech victory.
